How it works

Four steps, learned by using it

No manual. A short tour shows you around, and you can replay it.

Step 1 of 4

Mark your period

Tap a day to mark it. Menna estimates your next period and fertile window from your history.

  • Next period, with a ± margin
  • Fertile window that widens when cycles vary
  • Full moons on the calendar

Step 2 of 4

Log how you feel

One sheet per day: period, pill, intimacy, mood, symptoms and discharge.

  • Moods, symptoms and discharge in a single tap
  • Pill and intimacy, with or without protection
  • Arrows to revisit past days

Step 3 of 4

See your patterns

Averages and charts from what you log, with FIGO 2018 as a reference for your age.

  • Average cycle and period length
  • How much cycles vary and how close estimates were
  • Symptoms by day of your cycle

Step 4 of 4

Bring it to your visit

A summary of your last 4 months to show your gynecologist. Intimacy stays hidden until you choose.

  • Periods, cycles and usual flow
  • Most logged symptoms and moods
  • Birth control and visit notes

Story

Why Menna exists

Menna was born from a concern: period apps that send your data to servers you never see. The answer was a cycle tracker that keeps everything on the phone.

BeforeA paper calendar with circled days.
NowMenna: your cycle, only yours.

Its name comes from mene, the Greek word for moon.

The first app from DCA Software. AI helps write the code; people decide the rest. The app itself doesn't use AI.

2 to 7 days, usually about 5.

Signs of a heavy period

Changing your pad or tampon every 1 to 2 hours, bleeding for more than 7 days, or clots larger than 2.5 cm.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Can I use Menna as birth control?

No. Menna gives estimates, not medical advice. Days outside the fertile window are not safe, and reminders can fail. Ask your doctor about contraception.

How does Menna estimate my next period?

From the median of your last 6 cycles and periods. If cycles vary, the fertile window widens; the ± margin shows how close past estimates were.

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

No. Menna has no accounts and works without internet.

What happens if I change phones?

Your history isn't recovered. Menna keeps no copies anywhere else.

Can I export my data?

Not yet.

Which phones does it work on?

iPhone, for now.

Does Menna use artificial intelligence?

No, and your data is never used to train anything.

Who makes Menna?

DCA Software.

How much does it cost?

USD 1.99, paid once. No subscriptions and no in-app purchases.
