What Menna stores
  • Only what you enter yourself. Each day: period, flow, discharge, mood, symptoms, sexual activity (with or without protection) and whether you took your pill.
  • Profile: your name, your birthday, and the period and fertile window reminders.
  • Birth control and visits: your method, the date it was placed and its next change or check-up, your daily pill reminder time, and your gynecologist visit with any notes you write for it.
  • Settings: the language, the appearance (light or dark), the Face ID lock and when to ask for it again, discreet notifications, and which tutorials you have already seen. The visit report is built on screen from this same data and is not saved separately.
What Menna never does
  • It never connects to the internet: no servers, no sync, nothing comes in or goes out with your data.
  • It never shows ads, and it has no analytics, tracking or advertising services from other companies.
  • It never sells, shares or uses your data for marketing, profiling or research.
  • It does not use artificial intelligence, and your data is never used to train anything.
  • It does not read Apple Health or any other app, and it does not use your location, contacts, camera, microphone or photos.
Where it is kept
  • In Menna's private storage on this phone. Other apps cannot read it.
  • It is kept out of iCloud and computer backups on purpose, so it never leaves the phone. The other side of that: deleting Menna or changing phones erases your history, and there is no way to recover it.
  • Your phone's own protections (passcode and encryption) apply to it.
Face ID and screen privacy
  • The optional Face ID lock (in Settings) hides Menna's screens unless someone unlocks it with your face or your phone's passcode. It does not add extra encryption. If your iPhone has no passcode or Face ID set up, the lock cannot check anything and Menna opens normally.
  • Face ID is handled entirely by iOS. Menna only learns whether it worked, and it never receives your face data.
  • When you leave Menna, its screen is covered, so the iOS app switcher never shows what you logged.
Notifications
  • Menna only sends the reminders you turn on: your daily pill, your period and your fertile window (1, 3 or 5 days before), and the change or check-up of your birth control and your gynecologist visit (these two, a week before and on the day).
  • They are scheduled on your phone itself. Menna does not use push notifications or any server to send them.
  • The daily pill reminder has a button to mark the pill as taken without opening Menna. iOS asks you to unlock your phone first, and the mark is saved only on this phone. If Menna was fully closed, iOS may not deliver the tap, so check the day in the app if in doubt.
  • A reminder can appear on your lock screen. With Discreet notifications (in Settings) it only says “Reminder”. They are on when you first install Menna.
Permissions
  • Menna asks for only two permissions: Face ID and notifications. Both are optional. You can change either one at any time in the iOS Settings app, and Menna keeps working without them.
Check it yourself
  • Turn on airplane mode: Menna works exactly the same, because it never needed the internet.
  • On your iPhone, open Settings › Privacy & Security › App Privacy Report and turn it on. After using Menna, it should show no network activity for it.
  • Menna's App Store page shows Apple's privacy label “Data Not Collected”.
Your rights over your data
  • See it: everything Menna stores is shown in the app itself.
  • Correct it: edit or clear any day, your profile, and your birth control and visits at any time.
  • Delete it: use “Delete all data” in Settings, or delete Menna. Deleted data cannot be recovered.
  • Because nobody else has a copy, there is nothing to request from us and nothing we could recover for you. Menna does not have an export option yet.
Crash reports from Apple
  • If you have chosen in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send the developer crash reports. They are meant to describe the technical error, not what you log in Menna. You can turn this off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
This web page
  • The website mennacycle.app is separate from the app, so the promises above about the app do not cover it. The website is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, as any website is: Cloudflare processes the technical data needed to serve the pages, such as your IP address and your browser. The site also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits in aggregate: how many there are, which pages they open, and from which country and browser. The site does not show ads. For how Cloudflare handles this data, read Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Children
  • Menna is not designed for children under 13.
Changes to this policy
  • If this policy changes, the new version will appear in the app and in Menna's App Store listing, with a new date. A change will never start collecting your data without asking you first.
